Honeymoon in Marrakech: A VIP Airport Arrival to Remember
Start your honeymoon the right way: a Ford Tourneo Custom waiting at arrivals, a personalised welcome and romantic ideas for your days in Marrakech and beyond.
Marrakech has become one of the world's favourite honeymoon destinations, and it's easy to see why: candlelit riad courtyards, rooftop dinners facing the Atlas, desert sunsets and hammams designed for two. A honeymoon deserves a beginning to match. Instead of queuing for a taxi after your flight, imagine stepping out of customs to find a driver holding a sign with your names, a cool towel and a quiet Mercedes waiting outside.
The VIP arrival, step by step
Before you fly, we confirm your flight details, your riad or hotel and any special requests. Many couples ask for a personalised sign — "Welcome to Marrakech, Mr & Mrs…" — and it's a lovely touch for photos.
At arrivals, your driver waits right after customs. He takes charge of your luggage and walks you to the vehicle. Your flight is tracked, so even if it lands late, he's there.
In the vehicle, a VIP Ford Tourneo Custom offers leather captain seats, generous space and a calm ride. Water is always on board, and on request we can add refreshing towels or a small bouquet. Tell us in advance and we'll organise it.
At your accommodation, the driver drops you at the hotel entrance or, for a Medina riad, at the closest gate, where a porter takes your bags to the door. Our Marrakech airport transfer page explains how this works.
Choosing where to stay
- A riad in the Medina — intimate, beautifully decorated, often with a plunge pool and a roof terrace. Perfect for atmosphere and walking to the souks.
- A palace hotel or resort in the Hivernage or Palmeraie — big pools, spas and space, a little away from the bustle.
- A luxury camp in the Agafay desert — one or two nights under the stars, often the highlight of a honeymoon.
- A lodge in the Atlas — mountain views, fresh air and total calm, about an hour from the city.
Many couples combine two of these: a few nights in a riad, then a night in the desert or the mountains. We handle the transfers between them.
Romantic experiences around Marrakech
Sunset and dinner in the desert. The Agafay desert, 45 minutes away, offers sunsets over the Atlas and candlelit dinners in camps. Your driver waits and brings you back after dessert. See our Agafay desert trip.
A hot-air balloon at sunrise. Floating above Berber villages as the sun rises over the mountains is unforgettable. Pick-ups are early, so a private transfer is the easiest option.
A day by the ocean. Essaouira's blue boats, ramparts and sea breeze make a beautiful day trip, or a two-night escape.
A hammam for two. Many riads and spas offer couples' rituals with black soap, scrubbing and argan oil massages.
A private cooking class. Learn to make tagine and Moroccan salads together, then enjoy what you've prepared.
A day at your own pace. With a private driver in Marrakech, you can visit gardens in the morning, have lunch in the Palmeraie and watch the sunset from a rooftop without worrying about taxis.
Arriving via Casablanca or Agadir?
Some of the best long-haul connections land in Casablanca, and many European charter flights arrive in Agadir. That's no reason to compromise on comfort: the drive to Marrakech takes around three hours on a smooth motorway, and in a VIP van it becomes a relaxing first glimpse of the country. Ask for a stop at the Hassan II Mosque from Casablanca, or at an argan cooperative on the way from Agadir — and arrive at your riad in time for sunset.
Practical tips for honeymooners
- Best seasons: spring (March–May) and autumn (late September–November) offer ideal temperatures. Winter is sunny but nights are cold; summer is very hot but quieter.
- Dress code: Marrakech is relaxed, but covering shoulders and knees in the Medina and villages is respectful.
- Public affection: holding hands is fine; more effusive gestures are best kept for your riad.
- Ramadan: if your dates fall during Ramadan, the atmosphere is special and evenings are festive; read our guide to travelling during Ramadan.
- Don't over-plan: a honeymoon in Marrakech is about rhythm — a slow breakfast, one activity, a long lunch, a sunset.
Departure day
End the trip as smoothly as it began: book your return transfer in advance, leave your riad 2.5 to 3 hours before an international flight, and enjoy a last tea on the terrace while your driver waits. Our departure day guide has every detail.
A sample five-day honeymoon
- Day 1: VIP arrival, mint tea in your riad, rooftop dinner.
- Day 2: gardens and palaces in the morning, hammam in the afternoon.
- Day 3: sunrise balloon flight, rest, evening in the Agafay desert.
- Day 4: day trip to Essaouira or the Atlas mountains.
- Day 5: shopping, last lunch, transfer to the airport.
Your honeymoon begins the moment you land. Tell us your dates and any special wishes, and we'll prepare an arrival worthy of the occasion.
