A desert experience without the long drive
The Sahara is a 9-hour drive from Marrakech. The Agafay desert is 45 minutes. It isn't a sand-dune desert but a vast rocky plateau of golden hills, with the snow-capped High Atlas on the horizon — and at sunset, it's simply breathtaking.
How it works
You choose your camp or activity (or ask us to recommend one), and we take care of the transport. Your private driver picks you up in Marrakech in the afternoon, drives you through the Kik plateau and waits while you enjoy:
- Camel ride at golden hour
- Quad bike or buggy across the hills
- Hot-air balloon at sunrise (early pick-up around 05:00)
- Sunset drinks and dinner in a luxury camp with live Gnaoua music
- Lalla Takerkoust lake — swim or have lunch by the water in summer
After dinner, you ride back to Marrakech under the stars, without having to look for a taxi in the middle of nowhere — which is one of the main reasons travellers book a private transfer to Agafay.
