Travelling with Kids: Child Seats and Family Airport Pick-ups in Morocco
Car seats, pushchairs, nap times and lots of luggage: a practical guide to stress-free airport transfers for families travelling to Marrakech, Casablanca and Agadir.

Morocco is a fantastic destination for families. Children are welcomed warmly everywhere, the food is mild and delicious, and there's endless adventure — camels, waterfalls, colourful souks and swimming pools in riad courtyards. But the journey from the airport, with tired kids and a mountain of luggage, can be the most stressful part of the trip. This guide explains how to make family airport transfers easy, safe and comfortable.
The reality of taxis with children
In Morocco, standard taxis rarely carry child seats, and petit taxis in Marrakech are limited to three passengers. A family of four or five with suitcases, a pushchair and a cool bag will often need two taxis — which means splitting up, negotiating twice and hoping both drivers find the same riad. Seat belts in the back are not always functional in older vehicles. For families, a pre-booked private transfer is simply the safer option.
Child seats: what to ask for
When you book with us, tell us the age and approximate weight of each child. We provide, free of charge:
- Rear-facing infant carriers for babies (up to about 13 kg)
- Forward-facing child seats for toddlers (about 9–18 kg)
- Booster seats for older children (about 15–36 kg)
The seats are installed before the driver arrives at the airport, so you just buckle up and go. If you prefer to use your own seat, that's fine too — most airlines carry them free of charge, and our drivers will help install it.
Choosing the right vehicle
The most common mistake families make is underestimating luggage. Children travel with a lot of stuff! As a rule of thumb:
- Family of 3–4 with standard luggage: a comfort van is perfect, with plenty of space for a pushchair.
- Family of 5–7, or grandparents joining: a comfort van (7 seats) or a Ford Tourneo Custom for extra comfort.
- Two families travelling together (8–17 people): a VIP minibus keeps everyone together, with a separate luggage compartment.
Read what luggage fits in a van if you're unsure.
Long transfers with kids
Transfers from Casablanca (2h45) or Agadir (3h) to Marrakech are long for little ones. A few tips from our drivers, who are often parents themselves:
- Schedule around naps. Many babies sleep well in a moving van, so a transfer can be a gift.
- Plan a stop. Motorway service areas have clean restrooms, cafés and space to stretch little legs. Just ask the driver.
- Snacks and water. We provide bottled water; bring your children's favourite snacks.
- Entertainment. A tablet with downloaded films or audiobooks works wonders. Our vehicles have USB charging.
- Motion sickness. Let sensitive children sit facing forward with a view of the road, and keep the A/C cool.
Arriving at a riad with children
Most Medina riads are in pedestrian alleys. The driver will park at the nearest access point; from there, a porter can carry your luggage while you hold little hands. Pushchairs work in the Medina, but the alleys can be crowded and uneven — a baby carrier is often more practical for exploring. Tell us the name of your riad and we'll coordinate with them in advance.
Family-friendly day trips from Marrakech
Once you're settled, many day trips are perfect for children:
- Agafay desert — camel rides and sunset only 45 minutes away (Agafay trip).
- Ouzoud waterfalls — boats and monkeys, a guaranteed hit (Ouzoud trip).
- Ourika valley — splashing in the river and mule rides (Ourika trip).

Baby equipment in Morocco
Nappies, baby formula, jars and wipes are easy to find in Moroccan supermarkets such as Carrefour and Marjane, and in local pharmacies — but brands may differ from home. Bring enough of your usual formula for the first few days. Many hotels and riads can provide a cot or a high chair if you ask in advance. If you need to stop at a supermarket or pharmacy on the way from the airport, just tell your driver: it only takes a few minutes and saves you a trip later.
Safety first
All our vehicles have working seat belts in every seat, air conditioning and regular maintenance. Drivers are professional, experienced and calm — no rushing, no dangerous overtaking. That peace of mind is worth a lot when you're travelling with the people you love most.
